Configuring CuteFTP 4.0

  1. Go to Start > Programs > Globalscape > CuteFTP > CuteFTP. Click on the final CuteFTP icon.
  2. If this is your first time using CuteFTP, a window will appear thanking you for choosing CuteFTP. Click Close at the bottom if you don't wish to register CuteFTP at this time.

  3. On the following screen, enter the proper settings for your RPA account into the blanks. RPA's FTP settings can be found here.

  4. Click the Connect button when all the information is filled in correctly. If your logon is successful, a screen will appear showing the status of your connection. If there are any errors, you will need to go back to the previous screen and confirm that everything is typed in correctly, in lowercase letters.

  5. You will now be looking at the main screen. The left-hand directory is a listing of folders and files on your hard drive. You can navigate your folders much as you do in Windows Explorer, switching between drives and folders to find the files you want to upload.

The right-hand directory is the listing of folders and files on the remote directory (your account on our server). Double-click on the public_html folder on the remote directory (circled below) to switch to that folder. You must be switched to this folder before you start uploading your files, or your files will not show up on the Web.

  6. Once you have switched to the public_html folder on the remote server, you may select the file(s) you want to upload from the local folders on your left, and click the Upload button at the top of the screen to transfer them to the server. Once uploaded, your pages will be visible at http://members.rpa.net/~your_mailbox_name.
