Account Setup Using Internet Connection Wizard

Note: You may be asked for your Original Windows 95/98 CD-ROM. Make sure you have the Windows 95/98 CD-ROM handy.

  1. Choose the last option (I have an existing internet account through my phone line) and click Next
  2. Make sure the bullet is next to "I connect through a phone line and a modem" and click Next
  3. If your computer is new, it may have to install the files needed to make Internet connections. If you get the Installing Files screen, click OK.
  4. If your computer is new, you may be prompted with the Location Information screen. Enter your proper area code and, if needed, any necessary numbers to dial outside lines. Click Next.
  5. Make sure the area code is 716, then type in 295-7777 in the Telephone Number text box and click the Advanced button.
  6. When the Advanced Connection Properties screen comes up, leave the default settings on the Connection tab, and click on the Addresses tab.
  7. Leave the radio button on Internet service provider automatically provides one in the IP address section, and click Always use the following in the DNS server address section. Enter 205.232.82.10 as the Primary DNS server and 205.232.82.16 as the Alternate DNS server. Click OK, then click Next.
  8. Enter your dialup_id in the User name text box, and your dialup password in the Password text box and click Next.
  9. Enter RPA Internet in the Connection name text box and click Next.
  10. Select Yes and click Next.
  11. Enter your name in the Display Name text box and click Next
  12. Enter your e-mail address (which is your mailbox_id@rpa.net) in the E-mail address text box and click Next
  13. Enter incoming.rpa.net in the Incoming mail server: text box, then enter outgoing.rpa.net in the Outgoing mail server: text box and click Next
  14. Enter your mailbox_id in the Account name text box if not already present. Enter your mailbox_id password in the Password text box. Make sure the Remember password checkbox is checked if you want your password automatically remembered and click Next
  15. Click Finish to finish setting up your connection.
  16. You may be prompted to restart your computer. If you are, click Yes and your computer will restart to finish configuring your settings.
