Can you
still use AOL Instant Messenger with RPA? Yes you can! You do
not have to be an AOL member to use AIM. All you have to do is download
the AIM installation file (available from AOL's
home page). You will be prompted to choose a screen name and password
prior to download. Once you have successfully installed AIM, follow
the instructions below.
When you
start AOL Instant Messenger, you will be prompted to enter your screen
name and password.
Enter the
screen name and password you chose prior to downloading the installation
file. If you did not already do this, simply click on Sign On
and you will be prompted to sign up for a screen name (free).
When
you have your information typed in, click Sign On.
If you would like to add buddies, family members, or coworkers
to your Buddy List at this time, click on the List Setup
tab at the top of your AIM window, and then click on the
Add a Buddy icon toward the bottom. When you do so,
a space for you to type in the screen name of your friend
will start blinking in the buddy list.
When you
have added the screen names of your friends to your Buddy List, you
will see under the Online tab the names of those who are currently
online. To send a message to somebody else, simply click on their name
and then click on the Send Instant Message icon in the bottom
left-hand corner.
